Q1: In which language do the lectures take place and what language level is required? 

A1: The lectures will be taken in English. Therefore, it is required that students have a TOEFL iBT certificate with a score of 80 and above, or an IELTS Academic certificate with an overall score of 6.0.  Applicants who have taken their secondary school studies in English will be exempted from this requirement. 

Q2: Is the study program accredited and recognized by other countries? 

A2: Xiamen University is one of the school enlisted in the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDMS), which is managed by World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) with its Recognition Programme. Most countries recognize MBBS program in Xiamen University, including but not limited to India, Bangladesh, Thailand, Canada, United States of America, Australia, Nigeria, Malaysia, etc.

Q3: Is it possible to transfer from another university? 

A3: At the moment, the university does not accept transfer students.

Q4: How long is the program? 

A4: The program is a total of 6 years: 5 years of studying and 1 year of internship. Students will begin their hospital rotation classes around 3rd year of the program.

Q5: Are there any other subjects that I am taught besides medical subjects?

A5: In addition to medical subjects, Chinese language lessons will be given to the students for them to better adjust the

Q1: What are the admission requirements and documents that I need to submit ? 

A1: The required documents includes: 

a. A scanned copy of the first page of the passport

b. Birth certificate

c. Parents’ identity documents

d. High school diploma or Certificate of Expected Graduation

e. Academic transcripts for high school studies, bearing the stamp of the School.

f. Language proficiency certificate.

g. A Letter of Recommendation

h. Physical Examination Record

i. Financial Support Guarantee Statement

j. Certificate of No Criminal Record

Q2: What is the application timeline? 

A2: December 1st, 2022 to July 30th,2023

Q3. What are the fees for international students? 

A3: The tuition for international students each year for English-medium MBBS program: RMB 38,000 per year and dorm fees would be RMB 1,600 per year

A4: Scholarships that international students are able to apply would be:

Q5: When will I found out whether I have been accepted or not? 

A5: End of July, you will be notified of your acceptance.
